Kamado Joe Burgers Organization

Kamado Joe Burgers – Organization

Get your outdoor grilling gear organized. Prepare and plan first. Like an experienced military commander, conduct your assessment, think through your plan, have a strategy, be prepared, get organized, and evaluate your readiness.

One key to consistent outdoor grilling results is organization.

Fancy food chefs have a saying, mise en place, which means, everything in its place. Having all of your prepped ingredients ready to go streamlines the grilling process and makes it a fun and stress free experience.

Getting everything in its place, applies to both the burger making process and the grilling process.

We’ve never gone to any fancy food schools, but we do watch a lot of TV cooking shows. Those TV chefs all have their outdoor grilling gear and food ingredients within arm’s reach. I am sure they have a three credit hour class for that bit of knowledge.

Here, we’re mostly focused on the grilling half, not the food preparation. But, the concept still applies. This scenario, you have those burgers made and ready to go. We have our Kamado Joe fired up and it’s coming up to our target burger grilling temperature.

Kamado Joe Burgers – Be Prepared

Grilling those Kamado Joe burgers to perfection happens in such a short period that it requires your fullest and focused attention.

Once those patties are sizzling away on your grill grates, you won’t have time to slice and dice anything.

Don’t forget that clean serving tray for those cooked burgers and toasted buns. No cross contamination of raw food items.

Making a last minute dash to the fridge for a forgotten this-or-that might just result in over cooked or burnt burgers.

So take the time and arrange everything you need from your outdoor grilling gear to your food item preparation. Get ready and get organized first.

So, before you fire up your Joe, plan ahead and put everything in its place.

Tip: We occasionally experience LLL or HHH probe errors with our Maverick ET-733 dual probe thermometer. The fault is our own, try as we might; sometimes moisture does get inside those probes during the post grilling clean up.

Attempt to rescue those user replaceable temperature probes. Simply put the probe tip inside a warm oven. Warm setting only, 100 – 200 °F (40 – 95 °C), with the probe plug and wiring dangling loose outside the oven door for an hour or so.

Optionally, plug the temperature probe into your thermometer. You’ll see when that moisture has dried when the temperature appears on the thermometer. Now your temperature probe is ready for another day.

That’s why you’ll need that extra probe on hand and ready for action.
