Now we have the perfect cooking system.

We clicked that Buy Now button and with our 2-day Amazon Prime shipping this skillet lid was on my door step two days later.

There are 700+ of mostly 5-star reviews, so you know it’s a good product with many happy customers. Here is the current Amazon pricing and information for the Lodge L10SC3 cast iron lid.

First, right out of the box, this lid is ready for action. It’s pre-seasoned at the Lodge foundry. A quick rinse followed by a thin coat of oil wouldn’t hurt after removing the product label. The label peels off really easy, it’s attached with a big glop of rubber cement. No residue.

We use raw unrefined extra virgin coconut oil for all of our cast iron seasoning. Unrefined extra virgin coconut oil is hard to find in my area. Why drive around searching when the mailman brings it to my door. This is what I buy from Amazon for cooking as well as cast iron cookware preservation.

One lid for many products. Yes, that is what I call a major feature!

Decoding Cast Iron Size Numbers
You might be wondering why the number 10 is used on a 12 inch skillet? Back when our ancestors cooked on wood fired stoves, cookware was sized to fit the openings in the stovetops, also known as “stove eyes.” In this case, the size is a number 10. Not all manufacturers used the same size numbers. Vintage Wagner cast iron skillet sizes can differ from Griswold cast iron skillet sizes. So that number 10 skillet might be slightly bigger or smaller from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Lodge L10SC3 Cast Iron Lid Performance

So how does the Lodge L10SC3 cast iron lid perform?

Using both the Lodge L10SKL cast iron pan and this Lodge L10SC3 cast iron lid, we fired up or Kamado Joe Classic and whipped up a batch of sausage and fire-roasted peppers and onions for a late lunch or early dinner.

Cast Iron Cookware Versatility
Like all of my other cast iron cookware, it goes from oven to table, grill to table, fire-pit to table, or campfire to table. In other words, it’s versatile and probably the best cookware you can get. Try doing any of that with that other fancy high-dollar stuff.
