Silnylon Tent Repair I

REI Quarter Dome 2 TentI noticed on my last trip that my REI Quarter Dome 2 tent had 3 small holes in the tent fly.

I suspect they were from pitching the tent when the fly was wet. As it dried in the sun, it got overly tight? Or, perhaps they are burn holes from campfire embers? I didn’t see any char marks, so I really think it is the former.

My go-to can opener for doing stuff outside the infamous P-38. The very same one I have used since the time I was working for Uncle Sam. It has been described as the Army’s greatest invention.

I recently picked up this really nifty MiiR stainless steel beer growler from Amazon. If you are shopping around for something similar, you might consider this one?

This past weekend, we did a backpacking trip out to Virginia’s Ramsey’s Draft area of the George Washington National Forest. It was a good opportunity to test it out. This beer growler does a good job transporting craft beer to the house from the local breweries! But how would it handle a weekend backpacking trip?
